What does Unified Communications mean for your business?

According to a recent IDC report, the mobile workforce population in 2008 was 29% of the workforce globally. In 2013, the mobile workforce is set to increase to 35% worldwide. The United States is identified as having the highest number of mobile workers in the workforce with 72.2% of workers being mobile in 2008 and the expectation to grow to 75.5% by the end of 2013.
With many small and mid-sized businesses downsizing, the increase in responsibility among their employees and with many employees being remote, it is even more critical that organisations stay on top of their communications. The vast range of technology available today such as smart phones, laptops, video conferencing, and even cloud services has enabled businesses to become more flexible. But all these choices bring challenges and potentially increased cost if not managed properly.
With all the varying types of technology, it’s difficult to stay on top of day to day business. Take for example a sales manager who’s on the road the majority of his business day. He not only has to juggle multiple calls, if not multiple phone numbers (for many global companies), emails, voicemails, and calls that come through the call center which have not yet been returned.
If only we there was some sort of affordable unified communications platform that allowed for organisations to use one solution to manage all the different types of communication in one place….
News Flash! Hosted PBX is the answer to your ever growing problem of astronomical mobile costs and the solution for your mobile workers to be on top of their everyday challenge of managing emails, calls, voicemails, and faxes (yes some companies still use them)!
PBX is not a new term for many large organizations but it is for small and mid-sized companies. Traditionally PBX was a complex and expensive on-site phone system with expensive equipment, hardware, and maintenance that helped businesses route calls and manage call centers. Hosted PBX systems have now changed how small and medium businesses use their voice communications. They are the modern heirs to the historic systems in business communications for the past thirty years.
Hosted PBX systems are cheaper and far more capable. Modern Hosted PBX systems deliver multinational enterprise capabilities to even the smallest of businesses, often at a cost lower than the far more basic systems they are replacing. Hosted PBX now allows organisations to have a single unified communication’s platform with no equipment, low cost, and no maintenance worries.
